The Venice Intracoastal Waterway, in Venice, FL, provides a great atmosphere for Wild Wave Watersports. It connects to one of Southwest Florida’s largest inland waterways with a chance of catching Red Snook, Amber Jack, Spotted Sea Trout, Redfish and Mangrove Snapper.
Cruising up and down the coastline along the intercoastal is a great way to see all that Venice has to offer. Locals love to visit Snake Island (no it doesn’t have tons of snakes). The ICW was excavated in the 1960s, creating the island of Venice. The island is considered one of the most desirable areas to live in the region. Spanned by drawbridges: The ICW is spanned by three drawbridges in Venice, which are designed in the city’s Northern Italian architectural style.
The intracoastal waterway area has plenty of recreational activities, including golf at several local golf courses, art classes, fishing, hiking at the Oscar Scherer State park, which is a short drive away, and much more!
